EMPUSAE is the long‑running dark ambient project of Belgian composer Nicolas Van Meirhaeghe. Active since the mid‑1990s, Empusae has built a distinctive sonic identity blending ritual atmospheres, industrial textures, cinematic sound design and mythological storytelling. Over three decades, the project has released numerous albums on respected international labels and performed across Europe and beyond, developing a reputation for immersive, emotionally charged live performances. The music moves between deep drones, haunting melodic motifs and powerful rhythmic structures, creating a soundscape that is both introspective and intense.
For the Wroclaw Industrial Festival 2026 performance, Empusae will resent a focused 45‑minute set drawing from both classic material and recent compositions, delivering a dense and evocative experience tailored to the festival’s industrial and experimental context.
